Rape Aggression Defense (RAD)
The RAD Basic Self-Defense Class for Women is generally offered once each semester. If you have a group of women who'd like to take the class at another time, it may be possible to arrange an additional class. The program consists of 12 hours of instructional training and simulation and participants must complete at least the first 9 hours of instruction in order to complete the class; the simulation exercise at the end is optional but encouraged.For more info., contact Brenda (319-895-4292) or Officer Gehrke (319-895-6141).
There must be at least 8 participants for class to run, and class size is limited to 12.
$25 participation fee is required; financial assistance may be available.
Session for Faculty and Staff: What Can I Do: How to Recognize and Help When a Student is in Distress, Learn how to recognize and help when a student may be experiencing distress, depression, or thinking of suicide. Become more familiar with helping resources on and off campus, and how to refer a student to these resources. Thursday, October 25, 11:15 am-12: 15 pm
