What can you do to make sure you're Block Ready?

Succeeding on the block plan means getting a good grip on time management—identifying where you should build in checkpoints for progress each academic year, and making the most of available tools will help you create your personal plan. With the planning for the year done, planning for the semester is easier. With planning for your semester done, each block is less stressful. With a plan going into your block, you know what your goal is each day, and your course becomes a series of manageable steps.

Every semester—before classes start

Decide how you want to get your course materials for the semester. Taking advantage of Block Ready at the Bookstore means all of your required course materials will be sourced for you at discounted prices. All digital materials will be loaded to Moodle for you automatically, and any print materials will be available in the campus bookstore for you to pick up. If you prefer to source your own course materials, you will need to complete the one-click opt-out process each semester by day 3 of Block 1 or Block 5. Two weeks before the semester starts, class meeting times for that semester’s courses will be published so you can update your personal calendar, plan your work and activity schedules around class times, and make any off-campus appointments. Don’t forget that the Common Afternoon on Wednesday of week 2 each block has no class commitments. See the latest Block Ready schedule.
