Test-Optional Admission at Cornell College
We know that your potential as a student at Cornell is much larger than any number can describe. That’s why we offer test-optional admissions (and we have been since 2017). It’s your choice to decide if standardized test scores will be a part of your story.
Whether you submit test scores or not, your application will be reviewed with the same care and consideration. We focus on your academic performance, personal experiences, and the contributions you’ll bring to our campus community.
Why choose to submit test scores?
Some students feel their ACT or SAT scores reflect their academic strengths and want to include them as part of their application. If your scores complement your transcript and help tell your story, we welcome them.
Why choose not to submit test scores?
Other students prefer to highlight their achievements in ways that go beyond testing. Maybe you:
- Feel your transcript and activities better represent your abilities.
- Faced challenges that impacted your testing experience.
- Want the opportunity to meet with an admission counselor and have a face to face conversation about how you’ll fit in at Cornell.
Whatever the reason, we respect your choice.
