Auditions for productions in the Department of Theatre and Dance are open to all Cornell College students, regardless of their major or class standing. In general, students auditioning for productions are asked to read the script and prepare a one to two minute monologue or two contrasting monologues totaling three minutes in length. For musical auditions, students are often asked to prepare a short monologue and 32 bars of a song.
Because auditions vary based on the needs and styles of that particular production, please contact the production director, refer to the News and Announcements page or visit the Cornell College Theatre and Dance Facebook page for specific information regarding location, time, requirements, sign up information, etc.
Students interested in technical positions should contact Technical Director, Don Schneider (email@example.com). Other questions can be sent to the Theatre and Dance Department Chair, Scott Olinger (firstname.lastname@example.org).
FOR THE 2017 - 2018 SEASON,
auditions for mainstage productions are
OPEN TO ANYONE 17 AND OLDER,

Loosely based on Puccini’s opera La Boheme, Rent tells the story of a group of impoverished friends struggling to survive, create and love in New York’s gritty Alphabet City in 1991. Over the course of one year, Rent follows these starving artists as they strive for success and acceptance while enduring the obstacles of poverty, illness, addiction, impending gentrification and the AIDS epidemic.
