Ron
Clark (Artist in Residence) holds an MFA degree in acting
from the University of Iowa. He is a founder and co-Artistic Director
of Riverside Theatre, Iowa City's resident professional company. He's
also worked at Missouri Summer Repertory, Five Flags Theatre, Iowa Summer
Repertory and Company II in Seattle. He teaches studio classes and directs
plays at Cornell College where he is an Artist-in-Residence. In 1998,
along with co-Artistic Director Jody Hovland, he won the STAR Award (Service
To Arts in the Region). His performance work includes the one-man play
Clarence Darrow, Lennie Small in Of Mice and Men, Tom Wingfield
in The Glass Menagerie, Michael Rowen in the epic Kentucky Cycle,
Burton Stauss in Spinning Into Butter, and Martin Dysart in Equus.
Other recent roles include Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Uncle Peck in Paula Vogel's How I Learned
to Drive and Sir Toby Belch in Twelfth Night. At Cornell he
directed Blue Surge, Story Theatre and has written and performed the one-man
semi-autobiographical play Kindred Hearts as well the Christmas
memoir, Small Miracles. Ron's other directing credits include three
Shakespeare productions, Pippin, The Road to Mecca, Villains,
Steel Magnolias, The Diary of Anne Frank, Blood Brothers,
The Elephant Man and Beyond Therapy. He also played Pat
Garrett on NBC in the television production of The Authentic Life of
Billy the Kid.
