Classroom Assignments
Classroom assignments are made by the registrar in the summer for all nine terms of the coming year, and are adjusted, as needed, prior to the beginning of each block. Faculty are notified of their room assignments in the summer, and classroom assignments are posted electronically on the Term Table. Prior to the beginning of each term, they are also distributed to each faculty member and each classroom building. Room assignments are made according to the following criteria (in general order of importance):
- Overall needs of the College
- Specialized equipment or facilities required
- Individual faculty requests
Faculty should notify the registrar of their needs and preferences in the Fall as the Term Table is constructed for the following year.
If, due to larger than anticipated enrollment or for other reasons, the assigned classroom is unsuitable, faculty should contact the registrar as soon as possible, and before the first day of the term.
A benefit of the OCAAT calendar is that classes often are able to enjoy "dedicated" classrooms for the term. This, however, places a strain on available facilities, and in some terms there are fewer rooms than scheduled classes. Faculty who are able to share classrooms are encouraged to contact the registrar.
