Open Field

cover of Open Field, 1993 Open Field, Cornell's annual literary magazine, premiered in 1968 and was edited by nationally recognized poet and former Cornell professor, Robert Dana. Sponsored by the English Department, the journal features creative writing (poetry, short fiction, and creative non-fiction) and artwork by Cornell students. Open Field provides a rewarding opportunity for students to share their creative work. Each year, the journal debuts at the Department's Annual English Awards Night in May.

Students from all disciplines are invited to submit creative writing and artwork in the early spring, in accordance with submission guidelines. Students may also apply to serve on the editorial board, collaborating with the creative writing faculty to select material and design the publication.
