Open Field, Cornell's annual literary magazine, premiered in 1968 and was edited by nationally recognized poet and former Cornell professor, Robert Dana. Sponsored by the Department of English and Creative Writing and now edited by professor Glenn Freeman, the journal features creative writing (poetry, short fiction, and creative non-fiction) and artwork by Cornell students. Each May the journal debuts at the department's annual awards night.

Submissions to Open Field

Students from all disciplines are invited to submit creative writing and artwork in the early spring, in accordance with submission guidelines. Students may also apply to serve on the editorial board, collaborating with the creative writing faculty to select material and design the publication.
