Cornell blends academic innovation and tradition. Cornellians study under the distinctive One Course At A Time (OCAAT) academic calendar, which divides the traditional September through May academic year into eight 3 1/2 week terms.  Students may take eight terms per year to graduate in four years, leaving the ninth term free for internships, off-campus programs, international study, travel, independent study, rest and relaxation, or another course.
