    Marcus Phillips

    Assistant Director of Admission

Works with prospective students from Iowa (Iowa City area), Chicago Noble Network Schools, St. Louis College Bound Schools and students transferring from 4-year institutions.

Hometown: Decatur, Ill.

About me: I graduated from Clemson University with a BA in Communications.  During my college career, I was a member of the track and field team and involved in various leadership and community service initiatives through the Student Athlete's Speakers Bureau.  Prior to joining the Admission team at Cornell, I worked at a private, liberal arts institution in North Carolina.  During my time there, I was an Admissions Counselor, working closely with the Honors Program, and I advised the student organization CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ).  Most recently, I was the advisor for Cornell's BACO (Black Awareness Cultural Organization) student group and I am currently a member of the Inclusion, Access and Success Committee of the Iowa ACAC (Association for College Admission  Counseling).

One place I recommend students visit on campus: I really enjoy the front lawn in front of King Chapel. It’s a very restful and peaceful place where you can take in the beauty and serenity of Cornell.

What I can do for you: As your admission representative, I look forward to being a resource and guide for you, from questions regarding Cornell and our application process, to becoming an enrolled Cornell College student. Please do not hesitate to contact me in person, by phone or email with any questions you may have. I am excited to meet you and help you explore the amazing opportunities Cornell College has to offer!
