About me:I am originally from Albia, IA, and arrived on Cornell's campus in the fall of 1993. After four wonderful years on the Hilltop, I graduated in 1997 with a degree in English and concentration in Communications. My wife, Kari, and I moved back to Mt. Vernon in October of 2000 when I took a job in the Admissions Office. We have two sons: Kayden, who was born in June of 2002 and Jayce, who was born in August of 2005. We live just a few blocks from campus with our two dogs and cat. Besides time with family, I thoroughly enjoy sports (especially Iowa Hawkeye football and the Pittsburgh Steelers), reading and movies.

One place I recommend students visit on campus:Ash Park (football stadium) on a crisp Saturday afternoon in October. With the multitude of fall colors as a backdrop, listening to the 13th train roll past as you watch a Rams victory take place on the field is one of the can't miss places on campus.

Other things you should know about Cornell:The combination of academic excellence, wonderful people and so many extra-curricular activities so students could literally be busy all of the time make for a wonderful college experience.

What I can do for you:Offer up not only first-hand experience of life at Cornell College, but aid them in finding the right fit following high school.
