This is a summary of regulations and procedures you'll need to know if you wish to change classes after you register. The full text of the regulations in all its glory may be found in the current Cornell College Catalogue under Academic Information, Adding and Dropping Courses.

Add/Drops may be filed according to the following schedule:


Signatures Required


After registration but before 4:30 p.m. on the Friday before the term begins


Done in the online Registration System

During the first three days of the term

  • Academic advisor

  • Instructor of the course you're adding

  • Instructor of the course you're dropping

Must turn in a paper Add/Drop form with all three signatures before 4:00pm on the 3rd day of the block.

Can not add/drop classes for a future block.  After the third day of each block this can be done online for future blocks.

Between the 3rd and 15th day of the term

Add/Drops not accepted for the current block unless health or family emergency (see catalogue).  Can do add/drops for future blocks through the online registration system.

On the 15th day of the term

  • Academic advisor

  • Course instructor

You're only eligible for a 15th day withdrawal if you've been attending the class faithfully; have taken all the tests and turned in all the papers required; and have made a determined effort to learn the course material.
