An Introdution to the Student Program Coordinators2007-2008The Office of Intercultural Life has always relied upon a responsible and imaginative student staff, and this year is no exception.
Stephanie Lampkin I am a senior from Cincinnati, OH. I am a History and Ethnic Studies double major and Anthropology minor. I am on the student executive committee for the Council on Multiculturalism, President of Sister 4 Sister, a student assistant for the Ethnic Studies Department as well a Major Mentor. I love learning about different cultures and have studied abroad to Japan and Greece. I am so grateful to be able to work in the ICL office again this year because it gives me the opportunity to explore future career plans. I also love working with the international students in which we can all learn, share and benefit from our cross-cultural experiences.
Claudia Pineda I am a senior from the Berwyn/Stickney/Cicero area in Illinois and also from Morelia, Michoacan in Mexico. I'm majoring in Latin American Studies and Ethnic Studies and also work for the Latin American Studies Department. I am on the executive committee for the Council on Multiculturalism, participate in the PALS program, and am also involved with Alliance and the Organization for Latino Awareness (OLA). Working alongside the rest of the ICL staff, I hope to achieve more ethnic minority, especially Latino culture, visibility on campus this year.
Monique Portwood I am a sophomore from Milwaukee, WI and I am majoring in psychology. I believe that the programming that comes out of intercultural life is some of the most important on campus and I love being involved in that process as much as I can be.
Josh Youngblood I am a senior this year from Columbus OH, and this is my first year working for ICL. I am also a member of BACO, OWLS and I am on the football team. I am excited to work here because of the atmosphere and the "home away from home" idea that ICL instills.The staff is the best on campus. Ken and Crystal are awesome and they treat us as equals. I know it's going to be a geat time and a great year.
