French Block in Quebec

Cornell sponsors a French course abroad every other year that includes both intermediate and advanced students. In 2007, the destination was Quebec, and Sarah McNutt sums up her experience as follows:

"During the Montreal trip, I had the opportunity to develop my French skills as well as explore an incredible city.  Generally we had class in the morning and cultural activities in the afternoon which made it easy to take advantage of numerous events.
 
"One of the highlights of the trip for me was my host family.  They had two high school kids, and in the evenings they helped me with my French and I helped them with their English homework.  It was a lot of fun to experience a homestay.
 
"Montreal is an extremely diverse city and I found it very welcoming to students.  For Cornell students looking to improve their French skills, spend some time abroad, and experience a completely new city, Montreal is a great trip."
