Woosun (Sunny) Choi 11

Woosun (Sunny) Choi spent the summer of 2010 as a Quality Assurance intern at Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her large project involved researching the heating efficiency in the plant. To do this, she had to analyze reports from several different sources, including a variety of equipment. After testing, she was able to determine the ten best places to augment the heating system.

Sunny learned several things about transitioning from the classroom to work during her internship. "I think the biggest lesson I have got from this internship is the importance of good communication skills. There were many meetings daily. Although I did not have to go all the meetings, I realized that it is very important to know how to communicate with other co-workers efficiently. Not just in the meetings, though, people in my department were conducting their work through phone or email with other departments and partner companies. Therefore, accurate and efficient communication skills were very essential in the workplace."
