Bruce Dalgaard

Bruce R. Dalgaard, Husby-Johnson Professor of Business and Economics as well as Professor of Asian Studies at St. Olaf College.  He currently teaches a variety of courses in the departments of Economics and Asian Studies. Dalgaard was on campus Monday, March 23, 2009, for a public lecture, "Financial Free-Fall Japan's Lost Decade: Implications for the U.S." which compared Japan's financial crisis in the 1990s with the current U.S. financial crisis.  He also attended Professor A'amer Farooqi's International Economics Course, where students participated in exercises and listened to his thoughts on international economics.

Dalgaard has a M.S. and Ph.D.  in Economics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and a B.A. in History from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.  He has served as a Visiting Scholar at the Hogeschool Voor Economische Studies in Rotterdam, The Netherlands; as a Visiting Professor of Economics, International Division at the Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan; and was a Fulbright Research Fellow at the Chiba University in Chiba, Japan through the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN.
