Each One Teach One New Student of Color Orientation and International Student Orientation

Our orientation programs, otherwise known as Each One Teach One (EOTO) and International Student Orientation (ISO) are open to all new students who identify as a person of color and to all new international students respectively. It is an opportunity for these students to have early access to campus and begin to make it their home.

We recognize and support the college’s New Student Orientation that begins immediately following EOTO and ISO. With that said, these programs are particularly relevant because they will assist students of color and new international students in their transition to a small private, predominantly white institution (PWI) in rural Iowa. We will present events and activities to reduce the initial culture shock of being a student of color at a PWI and the initial culture shock of being an international student at an American institution of higher education.

These programs are offered free of charge to all new students which include all meals and off-campus activities. Dinner for families during the welcome dinner will also be covered by the office.

ISO is a mandatory program for all new international students.

EOTO is not required but is strongly encouraged. However, we have limited space within the program so we encourage students to reserve a spot once applications open. There will only be 20 EOTO participants who will be accepted on a first come first serve basis due to limited space.
