Cooperative 3-1 Program with Unity Point Health - St. Luke’s Medical Laboratory Science Program

Cornell in cooperation with Unity Point Health-St. Luke’s Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Program in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, offers a four-year program leading to a baccalaureate degree and registration as a medical technologist.

Three years at Cornell

  • Complete 23 Cornell course credits
  • Maintain a cumulative and a science Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher

One year at Unity Point Health-St. Luke’s MLS Program

  • Apply after you've completed your Cornell courses.
  • Complete one year under the supervision of the staff pathologist. 

Accreditation

Unity Point Health-St. Luke’s MLS Program is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences. Once you’ve completed the program, you will be examined by the American Society for Clinical Pathology for registry. After you are approved, you may practice anywhere in the United States.
