The following specifications are determined by Cornell’s Information Technology department:


  • Microsoft Windows Vista or newer
  • Mac OS X Lion 10.7 or newer


  • A computer running a network ready operating system, such as Microsoft Windows and Apple OS X
  • A Ethernet Network Adapter or Wireless Network Adapter
  • A category-5 (RJ-45) network cable (25' recommended length)


  • All critical Operating system updates and service packs are installed
  • Safe Connect Client*
  • All computers running Windows or OS X must have a supported Anti-Virus Client .
