This is a one-day program designed specifically for incoming students who are concerned about easing the transition to college and may have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or a high level of anxiety when dealing with new situations.

QuickStart Early Orientation takes place during the day before all other new students arrive on campus.  Parents and students stay off-campus at a local hotel but come to campus on Tuesday, August 18 and spend the afternoon with staff from the Office of Academic Support and Advising, which is also home to disability accommodations services.

There is a campus tour, sessions on academic skills, social skills, and some basic topics related to transitioning to Cornell College. The main value of this program is getting to campus before everyone else is here and acclimating a little bit before the fun and noise of Orientation begins.   Students who wish to move-in to their residence hall room on Tuesday morning before the formal program begins should talk to the Coordinator of Academic Support and Advising to arrange this option.

If you are an incoming student and you feel you may be eligible for this program, please fill out this application or email the Coordinator of Academic Support and Advising for more information.

All students need to be signed up by Monday, July 27 and need to participate in the scheduled activities for the day. Family members, including siblings, are welcome to attend as well.
