Department Chair's Handbook
As our Preface explains in more detail, the Department Chair's Handbook is intended to guide department chairs through the many responsibilities and challenges that arise for chairs over the course of an academic year. New chairs may wish to begin with “The General Picture” and to read the document in full, in order to know what to expect from this new position. More experienced chairs may wish to use the navigation bar or the Table of Contents page to locate specific recommendations. Either way, we hope that this guide is a helpful navigation tool.
