Campus Life at Cornell
There's more to college than the courses you take. It's a chance to get involved, discover new passions, and learn more about yourself. If you're a musician, actor, writer, or social activist, we've got things for you to do. If you're an athlete, we've got you covered—Cornell participates in 19 sports in NCAA Division III. There are dozens of student organizations to choose from. And if there's something you're interested in that isn't already here, it's easy for you to start your own club or organization.
Living in a Community
Dozens of activities and traditions bind our students together and energize our campus. Here, we have Orange Carpet gatherings, Music Mondays, Movies on the Hilltop, and annual Class Dinners. You can always find something to get involved with.
More than half of our students are involved in the performing arts, 75 percent in community service projects, and about one-third in athletics. And many take part in all three. We have more than 125 student organizations that you can join.
Speaking of athletics, Cornell offers 19 NCAA Division III sports, and as of Fall 2012, we'll be competeing in the Midwest Athletic Conference.
We prepare students to be engaged citizens of the world. Our Civic Engagement Office gives students a chance to make a difference off campus and around the world.
