Artists, art lovers and theatrical types gravitate to Armstrong Hall. This building is stuffed with fascinating art and rocking with creative ideas. A gift from Blanche Swingley Armstrong, Class of 1891, the building houses the departments of music, theater and communications studies.

Student and traveling art exhibits are displayed in the central gallery. Important pieces in the Armstrong Hall art collection include the Whiting Glass Collection and nearly 200 etchings, dry points, lithographs and woodcuts from the collection of Dr. William K. Jacques, Class of 1883.

An $8.9 million renovation project was completed in fall 2003. It expanded Armstrong Hall for the music and theatre departments (the art department was relocated to McWethy Hall). After the renovation, Armstrong gained an additional 10,000 square feet to house a theater, stage, box office, lobby and control room, plus a "black box" theater for instruction.

The 265-seat Kimmel Theatre is located within Youngker Hall, contiguous
with Armstrong Hall of Fine Arts.
