Course Schedule
Each course is identified by a department code, term number, course number, and a section letter
(if two or more sections of the course are offered in the same term). These identifiers are used
to register for the course on the enrollment card. Some courses are listed as Term 0. Many of
the Term 0 courses may be scheduled into any one of the nine terms if arrangements have been made
in advance with the instructor; others are available during either the Fall or the Spring (this is
noted in the title). Parallel courses have a two-digit prefix and are offered over two terms (e.g.
ART 67-103-1 is offered terms 6 and 7 and must be paired with a course that has a number 2 suffix to
avoid scheduling conflicts; in this case, the student could pair it with ART 67-202-2). The amount
of credit is shown for each course; if the course is available for less than a full credit, a different
section is listed for the course that earns partial credit (e.g. SOC 0-485 earns one credit and SOC
0-485-B earns one-half credit). Courses preceded by an asterisk (*) have no collegiate prerequisite
and are especially recommended for first-year students. However, the following courses are asterisked
even though they have prerequisites because many students satisfy the prerequisites in high school (CSC 151,
ECB 102, MAT 112, MAT 141, PHY 101). Courses without asterisks have prerequisites (consult the Catalogue or
the instructor) and are not open to students until the prerequisite is met or the instructor has granted
permission to register for the course. Courses numbered in the 500s or 700s are adjunct courses that are
taken along with principal or concurrent courses (see the Catalogue for a complete description and
guidelines). Although participation spans across terms 1-4 and 6-9, only terms 4 and 9 are listed here
(to coincide with the terms that grades are posted for these courses).
