Bonfires

According to the Compass: “Open fires on campus (including bonfires and burning "the rock") require special permission from the Dean of Students, the Director of Facilities Services and Director of Campus Safety or their designees. Flammable materials, lighter or cleaning fluids, gasoline and kerosene cannot be stored in any College residence. Burning candles or incense is also not permitted in campus buildings without special permission.”

Bonfires also require the purchase of a permit from the City of Mount Vernon and the presence of a campus safety officer at the event.
