After graduating from West Liberty 44% of the students go on to a four year college or university, 21% attend a two year school or junior college, and another 20% go on to a business or technical school.

Special Programs in Elementary Education: Programas Especiales de Educacion Primaria
West Liberty is one of the small Iowa communities that has started a dual language education program in its elementary school. This program has a $1.7 million endowment over a five year period from state funds and is partially community funded. The money is used to train teachers and put programs into place for students. This program is used in conjunction with an English as a Second Language (ESL) program to help integrate the new Latino population into the community. La Ciudad de West Liberty es una de las comunidades pequeñas que ha empezado un programa de "dual language" en su escuela primaria. Este programa está fundido por cinco años en total de 1.7 millón de dólares y tambié está fundido por la comunidad. El dinero está usado para entrenar a los maestros y implementar varios programas para los estudiantes. Este programa se usa junto con un programa de Inglés Como Idioma Segundo (ESL) para ayudarles a los latinos integrarse en la comunidad.

"The education they give to the kids in the schools is good ... really good," Alarcon said. "The work here is well-paid and the atmosphere (at work) is more calm than in other cities, like the ones in California." --a recent Iowa immigrant
