I work with the local Area Education Agency on a temporary and part-time basis and I work at the local Community Care Facility in which I provide workshops and consultation for the staff. Most satisfying and rewarding aspects of your position: It is rewarding to see behavioral or emotional changes in people dedicated to make changes. I work in a group private practice and we can make our own schedules. What jobs or other positions have you held that prepared you for this position? Social Worker II for the Iowa Department of Human Services before returning to Graduate School; Graduate Assistantship, Internship, and Fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics; Resident in Psychology at the Gannon Center for Community Mental Health What are your occupational and/or educational goals? I would like to continue to provide direct counseling services to individuals and families. Also, I would like to teach coursework part-time. I have other long-term goals, such as opening a clinic or group home. Additional comments: I would encourage students to become involved in a variety of social service opportunities to help them decide what population and experiences they enjoy or dislike.
