101, 102 & 103: Beginning Russian I, II, & III
In these courses we start with the basics; you learn the Cyrillic
alphabet and begin learning vocabulary and grammar. We practice
the four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and
writing. Ikach
205: Intermediate Russian
We will review basic grammatical
forms and continue to build vocabulary and develop speaking, listening,
reading, and writing skills. Prerequisite: RUS 103. Ikach
301: Composition and Conversation
In this course students
will gain lots of practice in writing and speaking on a variety
of topics. You will become familiar with some of the complex grammatical
structures needed to read advanced-level texts. Prerequisite: RUS
205. Ikach/Staff
303: Language in Context
You will practice
reading, writing, and speaking using a variety of authentic materials
from contemporary sources, including on-line magazines and newspapers.
Readings will focus on topics such as current affairs, politics,
business, and popular culture. We emphasize vocabulary building
and comprehension of complex grammatical structures. Alternate years.
