Charter Timeline & Application Materials
About the Charter Process
Each year new and returning LLCs are asked to submit a Charter to the LLC Committee and the Charters are reviewed by their peers, members of the Committee and the Office of Residence Life before a decision is made. These Charters include a statement of purpose, member statements, and a schedule of proposed service/community engagement and educational programs for the coming year.
Charters are informed by a variety of forms and informational meetings to ensure the requirements of maintaining an annual LLC are clear. Any Charters submitted that do not follow the timeline (beginning with the mandatory information sessions) may be disqualified and not considered for acceptance during the proposal process.
2017-2018 Communities Selection Timeline
Mandatory Information Session
The information session is mandatory for those groups interested in applying for or renewing a Living Learning Communities & Theme Housing Charter. The Charter process will be reviewed. All changes to the Charter from the previous year will be discussed. This session will last approximately one hour, with questions allowed after. Groups must have at least one person present to gather the information.

Charter Available Online
The Charter document will be posted below starting December 16 @ 12:00pm (noon).
Charter Review Sessions
Groups can have their tentative Charters reviewed for completion and compliance. This opportunity is optional but highly encouraged and is on a first-come first-serve basis.

Charter Due Date
An electronic copy (ie PDF, Microsoft Word, Google Doc) of the Charter is due via email by Friday, January 27th by 4:00pm (End of Block 5 Week 2) to the Coordinator of Living Learning Communities: Daniel Chou at email@example.com.
Charter Presentation and Interview
- Monday, January 30th @ 1:00-2:00pm @ Old Sem 3rd Floor Break Room.
Monday, January 30th @ 2:00-6:00pm @ Cole Library 326.
- Schedule a 20 minute timeslot for your group
when you turn in your Charter to Daniel Chou at firstname.lastname@example.org . The earlier the Charter, the more times to choose from.

Notification of Status
Wednesday, February 1st by 5:00pm by email.
Declaration of Acceptance & Housing Preference Form
Deliver printed and signed copy to Residence Life Office by Monday, February 7th by 4:30pm.
Housing & Expectation Meeting
Thursday, February 9th @ 4:00-5:00pm in Hall-Perrine West, Thomas Commons (Beginning of Block Break 5).
Returning LLCs Storage Request Deadline
- Monday, April 3rd.

2017-2018 materials are now available. The Advisor Statement and Individual Member Statement are included as pages in the Charter Application.
