First Year Themed Floors
Let's Get Connected
Welcome to Cornell! Residence Life is offering unique living environments through the themed communities. As you consider where you'd like to live in the fall, think about one of our three first year theme floors. Students who choose to live in themed communities will benefit from building close relationships with other residents who have similar interests. Students will have opportunities to develop leadership skills through active participation in the floor community. If you're an expert in the area or have a desire to learn more about that area, we would love to receive your application. By selecting a designated themed community, first year residents will:
- Create meaningful relationships with people across campus.
- Develop leadership skills through activities and environments where you are able to learn from each other's experiences.
- Be able to apply knowledge to service learning projects on campus and the surrounding communities.
- Be able to appreciate others' similarities and differences.
The Connect Floor program is like no other --- using the social landscape of a residence hall floor to create opportunities for personal growth.
Over the course of your first year at Cornell, you will experience programs and events that connect you to the college. Whether participating in a service project, learning about leadership development, exploring career interests or attending a diversity training workshop, you will gain a better understanding of what it means to be a student, a Cornellian and a global citizen.
