Group Project
Each group will present a 20 minute presentation of a given topic having
to do with an issue facing children today. You will also provide the class
with a one-page handout of your presentation. Your group will be graded
on content, organization, presentation, and creativity. You will be responsible
for ensuring the availability of any audio-visual equipment needed for
your presentation.
You will be divided into groups of 3-4 where you will research
one of the following areas, examining it from all perspectives. These
topics will be the building block for your final papers. Below you will
find a list of possible topics. If there is a topic you are interested
in that is not listed below see me about using it as a topic.

a. Premature Infants - Long term physical, cognitive effects, cost
b. Parenting - Discipline styles, types, cross-cultural styles
c. Types of Childcare
d. Peer Friendships - Importance, rejected peers
e. Family Styles - Nuclear, Single, Blended
f. Types of School Experience - Preschool, grade school, home school
g. Moral Development - Who is responsible, when is it happening
h. Cross Cultural Adoption
i. Obesity
j. Bullying
55 points possible - These 55 points includes my grading of you
as well as you grading your group members and the presentations in class.
