Pre-Law Program
If you know you want to be a lawyer, or are just thinking about it, Cornell College's Pre-Law Program is designed to help you.Through a variety of activities and intentional pre-professional advising, our pre-law students are able to make a sound decision about going to law school after graduation.
Students who are actively involved in the law school admission process also receive direct guidance and support from faculty and staff as they select law schools, apply, and decide where to attend.
Throughout their time on the Hilltop, pre-law students also develop and refine professional skill sets that enables them to be successful in life after college.
Pre-Law students complete academic majors across the range of disciplines available on campus. Recent graduates have majored in politics, economics and business, biology, women's studies, English, philosophy, ethnic studies, sociology, and kinesiology.
The co-curricular aspects of the Pre-Law Program complement the exceptional liberal arts education at the College. These activities include:
- a nationally competitive mock trial team,
- an undergraduate chapter of Phi Alpha Delta international law fraternity,
- mentoring opportunities with Cornell alumni and friends,
- an on-campus LSAT prep course,
- law-related speakers and workshops, and
- Cornell-sponsored law school tours.
