"Cornell SoBers" Eating Out
"$800 is the average cost per student for all local and long distance transportation plus housing for the eight (8) days Cornell students spent living in South Beach during April 2003. March 2004 is likely to be more expensive. We are arriving at the peak of Spring Break for 90% of
America's universities. Our probable off campus dates are March 15-23.

The cost of meals, entertainment, gifts, etc. is not covered. No average cost for meals in 2003 is available, but estimates range from $12-$52 per day, depending on how often people ate and played in the well-known restaurants and clubs of Miami's South Beach.

Pictured above are Stephanie Froehlich, Candice Graham, Le'Ora Tyree, and Ben Barnes at a well-known restaurant in South Beach's famous Lincoln Road Mall.

Holding the cost of meals to under $15 a day is not difficult. A small grocery store, open 6 AM to 9 PM, is across Washington Avenue from the Clay Hotel, where we'll be staying. The Clay also has a large kitchen/courtyard dining area available for residents to use, if they wish to stock groceries and prepare many of their own meals.
