Co-Curricular Activities

pathways
Academics should be your number one priority, but co-curricular activities can be a major part of your college experience as well. Clubs, activities, and sports help you to become a well-rounded individual and are helpful items to have on your résumé. Keep the following things in mind when getting involved on campus:

  • Be involved in activities (academic or non-academic) that you are passionate about; don’t be involved just to be involved. If you are passionate about an activity you are more likely to devote time to it.
  • It’s never too late to get involved in a new activity of interest. Check out the Student Organization webpage for a list of groups and contact information.
  • Do not be afraid to say ‘no’ to taking on new tasks. It is important to effectively manage your time between class, activities, and sleep.
  • While activities are fun, remember that academics come first!

 Pathways Tip:
Selectively be involved in activities you are passionate about;
don't be involved just to be involved.
