Graduation FAQ's

Frequently asked questions about Commencement and Baccalaureate:

Q: Do seniors have to go to Baccalaureate?
A: No, but it is a worthwhile experience.

Q: Do we need tickets or is there a limit on the number of guests we can bring to Commencement and Baccalaureate?
A: There are no tickets for either event, but King Chapel begins to fill early for Baccalaureate. There are no limits on the number of guests.

Q: How do I order Commencement Announcements?
A: Commencement Announcements and Caps and Gown sales are coordinated through our Campus Bookstore. Parents are mailed information from the Bookstore early in the spring and your graduate will be invited to Senior Day at the Bookstore on March 12 when a representative from Herff Jones will be on campus to take orders.

Q: Do we need tickets for meals?
A: Seniors who are on the meal plan eat as part of the plan. Tickets for guests can be purchased at The Commons Information desk.

Q. If we did not RSVP for the reception at the President's home can we still attend?
A: Yes, an RSVP is not required. The Presiden't reception is a casual garden reception.

Q: How long will Commencement last?
A: Approximately two hours

Q: When are students required to be out of the residence halls?
A: Residence Halls close at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31 except for seniors. Seniors must be out by 6 p.m. on commencement day.
