Sustained Dialogue is unlike any other student organization at Cornell, striving to improve strained relationships by affecting change at the individual level through personal growth and understanding, and at the group level, through dialogue and joint social action. Through weekly dialogue groups of 8-12 participants and 2 co-moderators, a safe space is created for students to address divisive issues, like race relations, that are often taboo in a social setting. In this space, moderators and participants learn from one another and are changed by the experiences they share, ultimately leading to an understanding of the problems and the power that they as a community and an individual have to address them. |
