2012 ACM Photo Contest

The images of off-campus study resonate in students' minds years after their experiences.  Shared, these images can tell powerful stories about new insights, transformed perspectives, and powerful new forms of learning.  ACM colleges have been pioneers in off-campus study and have collaborated since the early 1960s to provide distinctive liberal arts off-campus study opportunities in the U.S. and around the world.

To celebrate this history and the important role of off-campus study in liberal arts education, the ACM member colleges invite students to submit photographs from their off-campus study experiences for the annual all-ACM photography contest.

2012 Contest Rules

The 2012 contest will feature three separate categories: Artistry, People, and Stories.

Winning photographs will go beyond the typical tourist shot and demonstrate cross-cultural learning- students actively engaged with the local culture instead of just observing.  Photos that illustrate the interdisciplinary nature of liberal arts education will be favored.  The judges will also consider creativity and artistry in the composition of the photos. A description is required for each photo to provide context for the judges, especially for awarding prizes in the "Stories" category.
