NSO Checklist

Before June 30, 2009

Log in with your new ID and password which you should have received in May.
Check your Cornell e-mail and be familiar with how it works.
Begin looking through the Online Course Catalogue .
Review our Academics at Cornell page. Specifically you should be familiar with: Advising Information, the Online Course catalogue, First Year Courses, and the Writing Program.
Check out the PAs on the Meet the NSO Staff site.
Complete health forms and send in.
Complete Academic advising expectations worksheet.
Complete financial aid and business Office paper work (as need.)

Log in to Moodle using your Cornell email address and password, and complete the Language Placement Exams and Language Questionnaires. Depending on your academic plans, you may also need to take the chemistry placement exam before school starts, or the music theory placement exam on August 25. Read more about all of our placement exams.
Look through the Online Course Catalogue.
Review the One Book Discussions available.
Sign-up for the RAM Emergency Alert System.
Review pur Student Life Information page, specifically you should be familiar with: Finding Answers at Cornell, Intercultural Life, Student Activities, Career Services, Student Health Center, and Counseling Center.
You are encouraged to read "The Zookeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman", a copy will be mailed to you in early July.
Take the Language Placement Exam.
Complete the AlcoholEdu.

Language test MUST be completed. If it is not complete you will not be able to take a language in the first three blocks.
Choose your top three One Book Discussions choices. If you have not selected any you will be assigned to one.
Complete the AlcoholEdu.
You MUST have completed all required paperwork.
