Mozart Piano Quartet performs Feb. 19 for Cornell’s Music Mondays series

Feb. 12, 2007

MOUNT VERNON — Mozart Piano Quartet performs Feb. 19 in King Chapel for Cornell College’s Music Mondays series.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door for $10 (adults) and $5 (students).

The quartet’s program features Josef Suk’s Piano Quartet Op. 1, Gabriel Faure’s Piano Quartet in C Minor, Op. 15, and Richard Strauss’ Piano Quartet Op. 13 in C Minor.

With “verve, drive, and imagination,” Strad Magazine reports, the Mozart Piano Quartet from Berlin is establishing an impressive career. Since 1997, the quartet has been invited to, among others, the Leipzig Gewandhaus, Germany’s Mozart and Bach Festivals, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Sydney Opera House, the Frick Collection (New York City) and the National Gallery in Washington.

The final concert in the Music Mondays series, now in its ninth year, is Auryn Quartet on March 12.
