KRNL Station Manager

The Station Manager is responsible for the financial success of KRNL. The Station Manager assists the General Manager in all areas and is jointly responsible with the General Manager for the daily operation of the station. The Station Manager is chiefly in charge of the equipment and money aspects of the station.

The Station Manager:

  1. serves as sole purchasing agent for KRNL.
  2. submits monthly financial statements to the General Manager, Media Board, and the Business Office.
  3. helps create the station budget for the following academic year with the General Manager.
  4. writes all checks, maintains records of all monetary transactions, and keeps an accurate budget ledger. Continually ensures that the KRNL balance matches the balance shown in the Business Office.
  5. prepares and presents all financial requests to Student Senate.
  6. is the main decision maker on the amount of Honoraria given out each block.
  7. Is capable of filling in for any staff member, including General Manager.
  8. directs all affairs associated with subscription and membership services.
  9. oversees recruiting, training and retention of staff with the General Manager.
  10. presides over and conducts all meetings of the Executive Staff in the absence of the General Manager.
  11. revises training manual, job descriptions, and constitution as necessary each academic year with the General Manager.
  12. evaluates the Executive Staff after fourth block with the General Manager.
  13. attends Media Board meetings and has full voting privileges in the absence of the General Manager.
  14. works with the Tech Director to remedy any technical issues that occur.
  15. contacts the engineer for equipment issues.
  16. maintains weekly office/library hours.
  17. checks mail regularly.
  18. Has a weekly radio show.
  19. participates in all KRNL staff and DJ meetings and KRNL events.

Training takes place Block 9 and the Station Manager serves from Block 9 of the current academic year through Block 8 of the following academic year.
