KRNL General Manager

The General Manager is ultimately responsible for the entire KRNL operation.

The General Manager:

  1. plans a long term agenda and guides the station through it.
  2. is responsible for each facet of operation, including coordination of all departments to form a working staff.
  3. oversees recruiting, training and retention of staff with the Station Manager.
  4. communicates with the FCC, NAB, and IBS.
  5. ensures that the station complies with FCC regulations.
  6. maintains all records in the public file and the public info DJ folder.
  7. erforms quarterly FCC updates about issues programming with the Faculty Advisor for the public file (October 10, January 10, April 10, and July 10).
  8. is responsible to Student Senate, Media Board, and the Faculty Advisor.
  9. assists each Executive Staff member in performing his/her duty.
  10. revises training manual, job descriptions, and constitution as necessary each academic year with the Station Manager.
  11. evaluates the Executive Staff after fourth block with the Station Manager.
  12. presides over and conducts all meetings of the Executive Staff.
  13. attends Media Board meetings, gives monthly reports to its members, and is a voting member.
  14. helps create the station budget for the following academic year with the Station Manager.
  15. contacts the engineer for equipment issues.
  16. Maintains weekly office/library hours.
  17. Has a weekly radio show.
  18. checks mail regularly.
  19. Participates in all KRNL staff and DJ meetings and all KRNL events.
  20. Sets up yearly visit from an engineer to make sure all equipment is running properly and in compliance with the FCC.

Training takes place Block 8 and the General Manager will serve from Block 9 of the current academic year through Block 8 of the following academic year.
