Minimum Specifications
The following specifications are determined by Cornell’s Information Technology department:
Specifications
- Windows XP with Service Pack 3
- Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 or Greater
- Mac OS X Tiger10.4.0
- Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.0
- Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.0
Hardware
- A computer running a network ready operating system, such as Windows Vista, XP, and Apple OS X
- A Ethernet Network Adapter
- A category-5 (RJ-45) network cable (25' recommended length)
Software
- All critical Operating system updates and service packs are installed
- Cisco Clean Access*
- All Windows based computer must have Cornell's McAfee VirusScan* (FREE to all Cornell students) or one of the other supported anti-virus software applications
*Can be downloaded when you arrive on campus
Many of our students are now bringing wireless capable devices. Wireless connectivity can be used across campus in the common areas.
