Mac - Entourage 2008

Entourage uses the same settings whether on campus or off.  These instructions are written to help set up Entourage for the first time.  You may verify the settings on your existing account by skipping to the "Additional Changes" section.

Initial Setup

1. Select Start using Entourage without importing anything then click the right arrow
   
2. Type in your Cornell e-mail address and check My account is on an Exchange server then click the right arrow
   
3. You will be asked to select the ID for this account then click OK
   
4. To verify your account settings, click the right arrow
5. Verify the exchange server is mail1.cornellcollege.edu
6. The LDAP server is ad.cornellcollege.edu
7. Place a check next to Use SSL for theses servers
8. Click the right arrow
   
9. On step 6 (Optional: Verify Settings), click the right arrow
10. You will be asked, “Do you want to verify your account settings?”  Select Skip
    
11. Chose an account name and click Finish
    
12. You will be asked, “Would you like to make Microsoft Entourage your default e-mail program?”  This is a person preference, but the typical answer would be Make Default

Additional Changes

Some additional changes will need to be made to accommodate Cornell’s public folders and directory services. 

1. In Entourage, click on Entourage, then Account Settings
2. Double click the account you would like to verify
3. On the Accounts Settings tab, select Use my account information, you may optionally save your password
   
4. On the Advanced tab, change the public folders server to mail1.cornellcolege.edu
5. Change the LDAP server to ad.cornellcollege.edu
6. Uncheck This server requires me to log on and This LDAP server requires a secure connection (SSL)
7. Place a check next to Override default LDAP port and change it to 389
8. Change the search base to Ou=Cornell College,dc=cornellcollege,dc=edu
   
9. Click OK to finish
