Maintenance Worker – Building Maintenance Technician
Applications are being accepted for the position of Maintenance Worker – Building Maintenance Technician. Some of this position’s responsibilities include working with building systems, including but not limited to cooling towers, centrifugal chillers, roof top units, automated controls, VFD’s, refrigeration, boilers, gas piping, kitchen equipment, elevators and fire prevention systems.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and eight plus years of service/installation/designing experience with all types of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems in a commercial and higher educational environment. The ideal candidate will have innovative diagnostic and repair skills with an advanced understanding of building schematics. Candidate must have the ability to obtain a comprehensive understanding of several building automation systems, through training provided by the college.
Preferred Skills: Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and hands on approach. The candidate will interact with students, faculty, and administration of a daily basis where problem solving and attention to campus needs are critical to our success. Self-motivated, strong work ethic with the ability to plan and to complete task on time without immediate supervision. On-call rotation with other staff throughout the year will be required. A valid driver’s license and satisfactory completion of a background check is required. Must have the ability to lift and/or move greater than fifty pounds. Technical training in HVAC design and DDC certification preferred. Superior computer and strong math with a high proficiency in interpreting blueprints is preferred. Ability to maintain building environment by installing, repairing, and servicing all HVAC, building automation systems, including DDC and fire protection systems. Provide, maintain and develop preventive maintenance schedules for all HVAC and associated components.
