Cornell Scholars Program

Britton WalkerCornell College consistently attracts motivated young people with remarkable minds and impressive academic credentials. Though rich in talent and scholastic ability, many of these students lack the resources to finance a Cornell education. The Cornell Scholars Program provides financial assistance to such students, as well as the opportunity for the donor to develop a personal and rewarding relationship with a Cornell student.

The Cornell Scholars Program provides a unique and affordable way to name a scholarship. With an annual gift of $2,500 or more, you can establish a scholarship and provide a deserving student with tuition assistance for the upcoming academic year. It also provides you with a way to honor your own experience at Cornell or someone close to you with a named scholarship. And because these funds are not endowed, your entire gift will immediately benefit the student recipient.

Upon committing to program, you will receive a profile of a worthy student with financial need who will benefit from your generosity during the upcoming academic year. The student will learn about the generous benefactor assisting with his/her education costs. Typical donor/student interaction can include e-mail or letter correspondence and, in some cases, mentoring relationships.

Donors may also choose to pledge a minimum annual gift of $2,500 for each of their student’s four years at Cornell. To help a student with even greater financial need, donors may provide annual assistance at higher levels, up to the cost of a full year’s tuition.

In addition to providing vital support to a student, your $2,500 annual payment will qualify you for membership in the Presidents Society.

Becoming involved with the program is easy. Simply contact the Cornell College Office of Alumni & College Advancement.

Soon you’ll embark on a wonderful and important relationship with one of Cornell’s bright new students.
