Environmental Policy & Values Concentration

All students majoring in Environmental Studies must take the following core courses:

  • Physical Geology (GEO 111) or  Investigations in Geology (GEO 114)
  • Foundations: Cellular Biology (BIO 141)
  • Foundations: Organismal Biology (BIO 142)
  • Ecology (BIO 321) or an accredited off-campus ecology course

The concentration in Environmental Policy and Values entails the following:

  • Environmental Geology (GEO 331)
  • American Nature Writers (ENG 350)
  • Environmental Ethics (PHI 224)
  • Environmental Politics (POL 368) and POL 262 prerequisite
  • Four electives numbered 200 or above (see the course catalogue for approved elective courses)
