Selecting or Changing a Meal Plan
***The deadline to select or change a meal plan for the 2017-2018 fall semester has passed. Information is available below for when and how students can select or update their meal plan for the spring semester.***
Process and timeline
Meal plans are reset at the end of each academic year, and do not carry over from year to year. All students who will be on the 20 or 14 meal plan will select their preferred meal plan over the summer; any student who does not select a meal plan during that time will be assigned the 20 meals per week option. All students who are eligible for the 7 meal plan or who are eligible for a meal plan exemption will indicate their preferred meal plan when they select that housing option.
Students may select their meal plan using the link below. Fall semester selections can be made beginning May 1 through August 25. Changes to fall semester meal plan selections can be made from the September 2 through 4:00pm on the Thursday of the second week of Block 1.
Meal plan selections from the fall will automatically carry over into the spring semester. Students who wish to change their meal plan selection for the spring semester can submit the form linked below between the start of Block 4 and 4:00pm on the Thursday of the first week of Block 5. These students will continue on their current meal plan through the balance of fall semester.
Please note that while you may change your meal plan any day of the week leading up to the above deadlines, the meal plan system only updates early on Friday mornings. This means that you will not be able to access the updated allotment of meals and/or flex cash until the Friday morning following when you submit your updated meal plan preference.
Upperclass students eligible for the 7-meal plan or for a meal plan exemption and who wish to change their meal plan should contact our office; those individuals should not complete this form.
The 20 meals per week and the 14 meals per week options are the same cost. The 14 meals per week comes with flex dollars each semester. The 20 meals per week option is a better per meal value and is a good choice for students who eat three meals a day most days while the 14 meals per week option offers additional flexibility and is a good choice for students who eat two meals a day most days. Refer to the College's tuition and fees for current meal plan rates.
Additional information about changing a meal plan
If you change from the 20 meals per week option to the 14 meals per week option, then we will add $100 to your flex dollars account. If you change from the 14 meals per week option to the 20 meals per week option, we will readily process that if you have not spent any of that semester's $100 allotment of flex dollars. If you have spent any of that flex dollar allotment, you will be required to repay what you have spent before we can process the change.
Students may choose or change their meal plan for the 2017-2018 spring semester beginning at Noon on Monday, November 27th. (Cornell username and password required).
