Medical School Admission Rates

MDDO_AcceptanceGraph_2015

Total number of Cornell College applicants: 57
Total number of Cornell College applicants accepted: 43
Cornell College Acceptance Rate: 75.4%

This statistical data depicts the Cornell alumni and students who applied to either osteopathic (DO) or allopathic (MD) medical schools from 2008 - 2015. The data sources are the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) and the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Application Service (AACOMAS).

The acceptance of Cornell graduates into medical school is substantially higher than the national average of 41.2% (2014). Our acceptance rate of 75.4% indicates that Cornell students are not only well prepared, but highly competitive for medical school admittance.

Our calculated acceptance rate includes (a) both Cornell students admitted as college seniors and those who were admitted post-Cornell graduation and (b) all Cornell students who pursued admission to medical school, not just those who were endorsed by a Pre-Medical Advisory Committee.

We take pride in working with every student to help them pursue their goals in health-related fields. This includes helping students obtain rich research experiences, meaningful internships, and campus co-curricular experiences which help enhance their preparation for and deepen their commitment to a career in health care.
