Wes Butterfield '91, former director of admission (2000-2003), has joined Noel Levitz, an enrollment management consulting firm.

Associate professor of biology Marty Condon and collaborator Susan Swensen of Ithaca College were awarded $150,000 from the National Science Foundation for a two-year study on the evolution of host use of flies and their hosts in the pumpkin family. Condon's share of the grant ($77,651) provides funding for travel and morphological and molecular work on the flies.

President Les Garner was elected to a three-year term on the board of directors of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU). NAICU represents private colleges and universities on policy issues with the federal government, such as those affecting student aid, taxation, and government regulation.

Todd Gehrke, former director of student activities (2001- 2003), is a police officer in Mount Vernon.

Mary Squiers, director of human resources, retired in February after 24 years of service.

Judy Wilhelm, accountant in the business office, is retiring April 30 after 17 years of service.
