New face in alumni office

  Staff Profile

Jackie Stewart is the new programs coordinator in Cornell’s alumni office, replacing Beverly Moser Perlenfein, who retired in April.

New alumni programs coordinator Jackie Stewart knows all about reunions.

The youngest of seven children growing up in nearby Marion and Lisbon, she’s happiest when she’s surrounded by family, whether on a trip to Tennessee with 16 kin, fishing in the Boundary Waters with her husband, Mark, and two daughters, or hosting her extended clan.

“When we put together a family reunion, half of Lisbon and a third of Mount Vernon are there,” she quips.

Stewart, a four-year employee of Cornell’s business office, took over in June after the retirement of longtime alumni office employee Beverly Moser Perlenfein.

Even on the Hilltop, Stewart will be surrounded by family. Oldest daughter Jennifer is a Cornell admission counselor, after graduating from Central College in May. Youngest daughter Megan has transferred from Central to Cornell. Among her extended family are a cousin, Darla Simpson Strauch ’83, and her nephew’s bride, Heidi Dunham Carmer ’98.
